This update took a little time as the new Pure Blog menu broke how the sidebar menus worked on my custom content types. I could have left this alone, but really liked the focus mode - all is working again now!

Installed Pure Blog 3.2.1 now I've found some interweb connection. The new admin layout does not seem to have broken anything - once I've looked at the construct, it might make sense for me to move my content types menus into the new sidebar.

Couldn't resist a final addition before a crazy short week at work. When I post now my website will ping the wayback machine to notify it of the changes, and is very slowly pinging it's way through existing content.

I've wanted my website to be the main source of truth for training data for some time. Here is a run, with OS mapping of the track, elevation and metrics timelines, and key stats, implemented on my site. I've still about 500 broken activities to fix, but I'm very happy with the output so far.

A few final tweaks to my training log layout this morning, the last upgrade to that section before hopefully building gpx/fit file analysis - installed lightbox and removed some duplicated images. Blogroll and garden ahead of that though...

I've restructured my training log into a yaml collection in Pure Blog, losing ~3,000 workout files should speed up my post save time somewhat! I've also customised my dashboard to create and filter yml collection posts aligned to how markdown posts work natively.

If everything has gone to plan, I should have syndication links appearing below new posts on my website similar to those that I built in to my indieBlog project.

I've been working on an update for the last week, I can now write yml powered activity type posts without polluting my main rss feed. Books, TV & Films, Gaming, Places, Puzzles... Coming next, a series of articles on implementing webmentions in PureBlog.

As I woke up early and could not get back to sleep, I've extended the syndication functionality of my PureBlog website to discover endpoints for links in posts, and to send webmentions to them. Here is a local webmention working on my site:

My website will now directly post to both my Mastodon and Bluesky profiles whenever I save a post to published. I didn't expect to be able to do either, so am pretty pleased with that.

I've tweaked Kev's instructions for posting titleless PureBlog posts directly to mastodon to hopefully include all post types.

For the first time ever I now have my entire training log on my website, and last night I created this data analysis to show total training volume v discipline by year, and by point in year.

Not quite POSSE, I'd like to be able to actually import, map out, and analyses the gpx files in future.

I am worried about the impact on speed, so need to try to work out how to replicate this using yaml.

As the roadmap for my PureBlog migration moves towards a close, I obviously keep finding more, and more complex, things to add to it. I've started htaccess redirects from longform articles on my original domain now, and I'm exploring importing some discussions into PureComments.

I've added some data analysis into my training log so that it can total up and average out across months and years - only from 2024 onwards until I format and add earlier data.

I've fixed the color scheme of my rebuilt website in lightmode. A nice shade of Burnley claret now, not a royal blue and white belonging in a dark circle on the map, 13 miles away.

I've added two functions to my PureBlog install, to extract the first image, and the first description or first paragraph in a post, with a custom header.php using them for opengraph. I need to copy two files into my install after each update - feed and header.

What else to do on a long bank holiday weekend than play about with web design? I've implemented custom header and fonts, accented headers, widened view. Need to upgrade archives, and make that light theme Burnley acceptable!

Firmly in the incremental upgrades bracket, I have made myself a little SVG of the power of 10 logo, and linked it through to my 'athlete' 🤣 profile from my website footer.

Inspired by @paternoster@mas.to reading feed, I've bolted a simple linkblog onto my site. I need to weave it in properly to the topic archives, but seems to be working and echoing as intended.
