Cracoe Fell Circuit from Linton
A circular walk from Linton over Cracoe Fell with Burnley Mountaineering and Fellwalking Club, taking in The Rylstone Cross and Cracoe Fell.

I headed over to the Fountaine Inn at Linton to meet up with Burnley Mountaineering Club for the first time today.
Linton itself is a quaint wee village, with a little parking around the central green, which the Inn is set on, with Linton Beck passing through en route to the River Wharfe.
The route crosses over the Beck, turning right immediately after leaving the village, heading through fields on the level to Threapland, then around Cracoe and Rylstone. Look at for St Peter's Church at Rylstone which is striking, and the old Massey Ferguson parked up in front, even more so.
After crossing Washfold Beck, we climbed sharply up on to the ridge, almost all of the climb for the day inside a mile or so. Climbing over the style on the ridge, we took in the views downhill back towards Skipton to the right before turning left on the short walk up to the Rylstone Cross. We then followed the ridge along to the war memorial Obelisk marking the high point of Cracoe Fell, following the path along the ridge under Thorpe Fell Top, before dropping into the village of Thorpe, and back to the start at Linton.
