🧑💻A preview of my theme redesign, dark and light modes in desktop view. Just the small matter of templating it into Hugo to learn now.
I’m hoping to be able to identify the first image to lift into the hero section, if so the design will evolve a little yet.

🧑💻 A while back, probably around micro.camp, I stumbled across (link: https://micro.blog/mandaris text: @mandaris)’ series on building the Labarnum theme (link: https://mandarismoore.com/categories/labarum/page/3/ text: here). I’m currently reading my way through from bottom to top to try to get my head around building themes locally in Hugo for micro.blog implementation.
👨🏼💻 After most a year on micro.blog, I’ve just arrived at a method to inject custom content into category pages on my site using if/else in the list template to load in the related partial.
I’m sure there will be a much leaner way, but I’m happy after faffing around trying to do this for months.

Hashtag support through to Mastodon. 👨🏼💻
Probably the biggest (only?) item on my micro.blog wish list. It works ace on the cross-post, but I really want to simplify, get rid of cross posting, and run my entire workflow through my micro.blog hosted site.
🙏
Finished migrating my latest videos from Loom over to youtube.
Really like the ease and simplicity of screencasting through Loom - but:
Migrated and redirected my retrogaming project macretro into micro.blog last night. I need to build anchor pages to front-end the content well, and update links from youtube still… but otherwise completes consolidation of my online presence into this single site - hopefully without losing traffic.
I spent this evening perfecting @mikehaynes Outpost theme, having been defeated by it earlier this week. I learned a bit of Go/Hugo working on with @mtt Tiny theme during the week, which have applied here.

I like the way micro.blog saves a lightweight archived version of the pages that you link in articles.
Having decided to go ‘all-in’ on micro.blog, had not realised that while micro.blog (hopefully) brings followers across, it does not bring followees.
Just spent 15 minutes manually importing from mastodon.scot / mastodonapp.uk
Can anybody suggest a micro.blog client for chromebook that works better than a chrome save of the micro.blog website?
The android micro.blog and Gluon applications do not seem to be available for chromebook in the Play store.
Created a series of emoji based filters to simplify my micro.blog writing experience - inspired by @manton video yesterday.

I’m going to try a micro.blog only approach to writing.
Though I got micro.blog and mastodon working nicely together with webmentions, I got tired of boosting my own posts. It felt like that complicated simplicity, sought attention, and generated zero conversation anyway. 👨💻
The next phase of my micro.blog site project is importing my Facebook posts and images.
I finally have micro.blog and Mastodon interfacing properly so interactions on both should now show as webmentions on the post at my website.
